Virginia Hall Graves
Savannah, GA- Virginia Hall Graves, age 71, died Friday, February 9, 2007, at her home under the care of Odessey Healthcare Hospice and surrounded by her loving family. The Savannah native attended St. John’s Episcopal Church and a daughter of the late John and Gertrude Warren Hall. After marrying and moving to Detroit, MI, she taught for many years in the Dearborn, MI School System. After returning to Savannah she worked for several years with her mother, the late Gertrude Hall, in the family business, John Hall Florist and Nursery. Mrs. Graves was also a writer of short stories and was published in Readers Digest. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, John Graves.
Surviving are her husband, Wendell Graves of Savannah; a sister, Colleen Hall Pitts of St. Augustine, FL; a niece, Faye Pitts DeCastra of Birmingham, AL; two nephews, Barry Paul Pitts of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Bruce Hall Pitts of Aiken, SC; four great-nieces and nephews and a great-great-niece.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 20, at St. John’s Episcopal Church with The Reverend Gavin G. Dunbar officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park
